How to raise my confidence?

I need to know how to ask a girl out without being nervous or without feeling retarded if im turned down plz give me ways :( should i do it by phone in person how? Also last month she admitted she was starting to kinda like me a little and ever since then we flirt alot and now i think she likes me more.
