What to put on a demo cd?

Im going to make a country demo cd to send to various people who work for record labels. What should go on a demo cd? I only want to put 2 or 3 songs on it. Is that about right? I have a song I wrote that I would like to put on it and then should I just cover 2 other songs that I feel showcase my voice? Thank you for your time :)
