Has anyone witnessed a super car acheive the maximum speed advertized by the manufacturers?

I've often scene car based programs that showcase supercars that claim to achieve extremely high speeds. But, has anyone actually witnessed or driven one of these cars at maximum speeds they are claimed to achieve.
