I-Pod Touch 2nd Gen not working in recovery mode.?

I Recently put my I-pod In recovery mode. In the process my computer shut off. when I turned my I-pod on it was in that stage where it said " Connect to Itunes" So I exceeded to that. But when I plugged it in to my Windows 7 Computer I got a message saying. your Ipod is in recovery mode please restore it before you can use it in Itunes....So I attempted to Restore it AGAIN but as that happens the I-pod just shutsdown. Sort of like when your Ipod goes into lock screen. Then It gives me an error message saying An Error occured....It's Really confusing and I was hoping to give this to my sister for her B-Day I Also tried contacting Apple but they told me in order for them to help me I have to upgrade to some technical Retarded crap. Any Suggestions...
